About Grail

Grail overworld map along a river with shop nodes, gold, trophies, and the player health bar

Grail is Sokpop Collective's auto-battler deckbuilder, released on Steam for Windows and macOS on 1 September 2026. You never pick a card in combat. You fill energy pips, then watch the deck play itself against monsters and other players' recorded decks. Runs last about 15 to 45 minutes. Win six player battles before you lose four. Start with the getting started guide, learn the energy system, then compare characters and the character tier list. New players should also read how to win a run and the status effects page before chasing upgrades. If you want a planning sheet between days, use the run planner. Patch history lives in updates. Official store and studio links sit on the links hub.

Quick start

Five steps from the tutorial to a finished six-win run.

  1. 1

Launch Grail and finish the remade tutorial

Install from Steam, then complete the 1.0 tutorial so energy pips, draws, and discards feel automatic. Details live in the getting started page.

  2. 2

Learn why cards play or get skipped

You start with four energy and gain one after each draw turn. A card only plays when every pip is filled. Read the energy and cards guide before you buy expensive attacks.

  3. 3

Route the river instead of clicking randomly

Each day offers a handful of nodes — shops, free cards, side quests, blacksmith, traits — and ends with a player battle. Use map and nodes plus how to win a run to decide gold versus health.

  4. 4

Pick a status plan and lock three traits

Bleed, poison, burn, and shock do not behave like other deckbuilders. Pair them using the status effects page and the synergy checklist.

  5. 5

Spend trophies on Mabel, Zappy, and cosmetics

Ratagnan is available immediately. Mabel costs 200 trophies. Spend cups with trophies and cosmetics, then compare kits on the characters hub.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Grail out yet?

Yes. Sokpop Collective released Grail on Steam for Windows and macOS on 1 September 2026. A free demo still exists, and demo cosmetics carry into the full game.

Do I play cards during combat?

No. Combat is automatic. You only fill energy on the card you just drew. Strategy happens on the map, in shops, and at the blacksmith. See how to play.

How do I win a run?

Win six battles against other players' decks before you lose four. Monster fights and events happen during the day; player battles close each day. Full routing is in how to win a run.

Which character should I start with?

Play Ratagnan first. Unlock Mabel at 200 trophies, then Zappy. Rankings live on the character tier list.

Do I fight other players live?

You fight copies of other players' decks, not a shared live session. The campaign itself is single-player with asynchronous PvP at the end of each day.

Where are patch notes?

Read the updates hub, then the version 1.0 notes for over-heal, Iconic rarity, and the remade tutorial.

Is this wiki official?

No. It is a fan resource. Buy and patch the game through the Steam store listing and Sokpop channels collected on the links hub.
